WINTER SHOWCASE

Leading the Way, a New Era of Creativity

As part of their practical program, students are required to plan and organize an activity or event where they can practice what they have learned on the Leadership course, as well as the courses on planning and organization on the Delphi Program™.

Less than a month after the ribbon fell during the grand opening of our renovated Little Theater, Upper School student Angelica Hangdaan challenged herself to apply her knowledge from the classroom in organizing and directing the first ever Winter Showcase.

Created as a bright idea to fundraise for the Performing Arts department, the showcase highlighted some of Delphian’s brightest talent from dancers and singers to budding rap stars. Angelica spent many hours planning the different acts. She created an organization chart including everyone involved with the production from the performers to the ticket salespeople. She oversaw the creative direction of each act and ran rehearsals with the student performers.

The showcase included a song and dance swing number, creative covers of popular musicals, such as The Greatest Showman and Hamilton, original rap songs written by students, performances from the Jazz and Concert choirs and many more outstanding acts.

Profits from ticket sales for the event will be used to support the Performing Arts department’s future projects, such as this year’s Upper School Parents Weekend play.
