Since 1923, the Scholastic Art Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity and talent of our nation's youth and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. The program focuses on honoring the uniqueness of each student and on the power art has to change lives. Students submit their work in twenty-nine categories for their chance to earn scholarships and have their works displayed and acknowledged by the nation's art community.
Of the eighty-seven entries submitted by Delphian students into the contest, over half of the pieces were awarded with either the Silver or Gold Key awards. This year, there were over twenty Gold Key winners who were nominated to compete at the national level. Of those, Claudia Prado's video, Grow Up, went on to win a National Silver Medal.
